Lawsuit Filed to Block 60%

A campaign group opposing a proposal to make it harder to change the Ohio Constitution has asked the Ohio Supreme Court to block the Aug. 8 election that Republican state lawmakers set earlier this week when they voted to send the proposal to voters.

The lawsuit from One Person One Vote, filed Friday with the Ohio Supreme Court, says that Ohio can’t legally hold statewide elections in August, since Republican state lawmakers voted in December to end August special elections. It asks the court, which is controlled by Republicans 4-3, to fast-track the case. FULL ARTICLE
