A tragic loss and a somber day, RIP Charlie Kirk

Our nation grieves a true patriot and a hero for life, Charlie Kirk. A lover of Christ, son, husband, and father, he was senselessly assassinated on Wednesday, September 10 at Utah Valley University. There is much commentary in the press about this evil killing, with the Daily Wire calling it, “the worst political assassination in our nation in 50 years.” President Trump and Vice President Vance have both shared their deep sorrow and grief from the horrific loss of a good friend, also expressing the grief they feel for Charlie’s wife and children.

Cincinnati Right to Life owes immense gratitude for this brave, bold, pro-life champion—an entrepreneur and conservative movement leader who loved the Lord and who never shied away from defending the preborn. Many of our young Cincinnati Right to Life volunteers and staff were personally inspired by Charlie, whose courage and conviction gave them confidence to step forward in this movement.

CRTL staff member Adam Schad shared about Charlie, “In the midst of an apathetic and bored generation, Charlie taught me to care. God used Charlie to change the course of my life, which ultimately led me to dedicate myself to the greatest need of our time: Protecting unborn children. I believe that choir, of voices never heard in this world, sounded out for Charlie at the hour of his passing. May his soul and all the souls of the faithful departed rest in peace.”

Charlie Kirk emboldened high school and college students to stand for truth on every matter, but especially on life, always expressing the joy and beauty of babies. He shared often about the loving support of pregnancy centers.

While we grieve right now, Charlie’s legacy will continue to
inspire us to press forward in building a culture of life.

Please join us in pray for Charlie’s soul and his beautiful wife and children. Our hearts break along with so many others in the pro-life community. May God have mercy on our world.
