My update is a little late. I attended the Cincinnati Right to Life Evening for Life on October 24 and didn’t get it sent in on time for the usual Friday release. By the way, the Evening for Life was fantastic. Laura Strietmann, director of CRTL, has a review of the evening on the CRTL website which you might want to read.

Last week I wrote about Abby Johnson’s appearance at our local Planned Parenthood. Here are a couple more of her remarks. She gave us insight into the type of people who work at abortion facilities. They are often hired to perform tasks unrelated directly to abortion, but eventually they find themselves more closely associated with the abortions. They can make more money at the abortion facility than they could anywhere else, so even if they would like to leave, they feel trapped.

Abby answered questions and gave advice as to how best to speak to abortion facility workers in the short span of time we might have as they walk in to work. Building relationships is key for those who are there regularly, but even saying “You didn’t grow up wanting to work at an abortion facility. Go to abortionworker.com,” might start them thinking about what they are involved in.

Abby reinforced that what we are doing – giving public prayer witness – is positive and works. Former abortion workers who have left their jobs and come for help at Abby’s ministry – And Then There Were None – have told her that those who reached out to them on the sidewalk made a positive impression on them.

DON’T FORGET – CLOSING PRAYER HOUR OF THANKSGIVING – NOVEMBER 3, 2024 at 2pm in front of Planned Parenthood, 2314 Auburn Avenue, 45219. This is the final group event of the fall campaign on the final prayer day. Fr. Matt Cushing, pastor of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, Park Hills, KY, will lead prayer and speak. Need for ongoing prayer witness to the Sanctity of Human Life beyond the 40 Days for Life campaign will be introduced.
