We Weathered The Storm, Blessings, Open Hours and Upcoming Events
Remembering the remnants of Helene blowing through the area last Friday, I wanted to remind all our faithful vigil participants that even though we put up with a lot of unfavorable weather (rain, small gusts of wind, heat, snow) we give our discomfort to God as an extra sacrifice, but we don’t expect you to stay out in dangerous weather. Fifty-five mile an hour winds or lightening are reasons to at least go sit in your car, if it doesn’t last long, or leave the sidewalk. If the bag of signs is there, please find the directions on one of the signs and return the bag to Holy Name Church.
Thanks to those who reach out to people coming to Planned Parenthood, we continue to receive notice of women who change their minds about having abortions. It’s always a blessing to hear. Your prayers continue to change hearts and minds.
If you haven’t signed up yet to cover vigil hours, we have these hours in need of at least minimum coverage – Mondays, October 7 and October 21 – 3-4pm, 4-5pm, 5-6pm, 6-7pm. Friday, October 18 needs coverage – 2-3pm, 3-4pm, and 5-6pm. If you can’t come at those times, go to the calendar and find hours with a “1” listed. Help us have at least 2 people present each hour – or more!

Wednesday, October 16 – 9 to 10am in front of Planned Parenthood – Join us to hear Abby Johnson, author of the book UNPLANNED, on which the film was based.
Friday, October 18 – 7 to 8pm in front of Planned Parenthood – Join us for our Midpoint Group Prayer Hour to thank God for the blessings received during the first half of the campaign and ask for the success of the remainder of the campaign. No sign up necessary for this hour.
