These Are a Few of Our Favorite Things…FOR LIFE in 2025

As 2025 comes to a close, Cincinnati Right to Life pauses with deep gratitude to reflect on the victories, growth, and moments of God’s unmistakable guidance throughout the year. While the challenges before us remain great, so too does the resolve of those who stand for life.

Here are a few of our favorite things from 2025—each one a testament to perseverance, faith, and the power of showing up for the preborn and their mothers.

1. A Year of Defunding Planned Parenthood—and Real Impact

Although efforts were made to defund Planned Parenthood for a longer period, bureaucracy limited the victory to one year. Even so, the results were undeniable. Four Planned Parenthood facilities closed in Ohio in 2025, proving once again that when taxpayer dollars are removed from the abortion industry, lives are saved.

This year also required significant travel for Cincinnati Right to Life as we advocated on Capitol Hill, in Columbus, and worked diligently to build new relationships with pro-life champions, including U.S. Senators John Husted and Bernie Moreno. These investments strengthened our voice and influence at the national level.

2. A Redeemed Headquarters—Steps from Planned Parenthood

After more than three decades located 30 minutes from where abortion occurs, Cincinnati Right to Life relocated our headquarters to less than two blocks from Planned Parenthood. Our new office space once was Planned Parenthood—from 1964 to 1989. For 25 years, the culture of death was promoted within those walls, and later the preborn were killed there. Today, that same space is dedicated to defending life. Talk about redemption—and God clearly showing us the way.

3. The Victory and Installation of Senator Bernie Moreno

In one of the most expensive and contentious U.S. Senate races in American history, Senator Bernie Moreno emerged victorious—unseating Sherrod Brown, whose entire political career earned an “F” rating from National Right to Life. Senator Moreno is a strong advocate for the preborn, and his election marks a critical shift for Ohio and for life nationwide.

4. A Monthly Abortion Dashboard in Ohio’s Budget

For the first time, Ohio now includes a monthly abortion dashboard in the state budget. This provides a clearer picture of the level of death and destruction occurring in our state and allows Cincinnati Right to Life to more accurately inform the public and report on Ohio’s direction.

5. Growth in Sidewalk Advocacy on Auburn Avenue

Our sidewalk advocacy continues to save lives. In 2025, this ministry is confirmed to have saved at the very least, 14 lives, with many additional turn-aways.

Cincinnati Right to Life also hosted two 40 Days for Life campaigns with 24-hour prayer vigils, and we are grateful to the Knights of Columbus and the men of our region who prayed faithfully through the night. Advocates stand in all weather, offering truth, compassion, and hope before a final decision is made.

6. Advocating for the SHE WINS Act

Cincinnati Right to Life is advocating for the SHE WINS ACT alongside attorney Brian Hurley, who for more than 15 years has worked to transform informed consent for mothers seeking abortions in Ohio.

Ohio’s current abortion information laws fall far below the standards required for any other medical procedure. While remaining within Article I, Section 22 of the Ohio Constitution, the SHE WINS Act ensures mothers are fully informed about the dangers of abortion—which could lead many to rethink their decision and choose life.

After 15 years of trying to get an informed consent bill introduced in Ohio, this finally happened in 2025. We thank Reps. Jean Schmidt, Josh Williams and Mike Odioso for advancing this protective legislation. We also thank AUL for assisting in the rewrite of this legislation for a post-Issue 1 Ohio and a post-Dobbs America.

7. Increased Intentional Prayer

We are deeply grateful for the intentional group of prayer warriors who meet weekly in our office, praying specifically for the abortionists at the local Planned Parenthood. Under the guidance of an exorcist, these prayers are offered with deep intention, trusting the Lord to move where human efforts cannot. We have already seen signs of His work. A local pregnancy center informed us of a 22-week-pregnant mother who was turned away because a new abortionist at Planned Parenthood would not perform abortions past 20 weeks. While every preborn life matters, this moment reminds us that hearts can change and prayers are heard. Sometimes transformation is slow, but we fully trust in the Lord to release the hold on these abortionists.

8. The Medina Decision at the U.S. Supreme Court

In 2025, the Medina decision before the U.S. Supreme Court marked a significant moment in the ongoing legal battle for life. The Court ruled that the statute at issue in Medina could go much farther—prohibiting Medicaid reimbursement for any services provided by entities that also perform abortions.

This decision delivered a major blow to Planned Parenthood and opened the door for Governor Mike DeWine to sign an executive order cutting off public funding to the abortion giant in Ohio. The ruling reaffirmed the state’s authority to ensure taxpayer dollars are not used to support the abortion industry and represented a critical victory for life. We now continue to work and wait (and advocate!) on Governor DeWine to sign an order in Ohio.

9. Ohio’s Own JD Vance—From Cincinnati to Vice President of the United States

We are proud to recognize Ohio Senator—and now Vice President—JD Vance as a strong and consistent voice for the preborn. While running as a U.S. Senate candidate, his first public pro-life event was with Cincinnati pro-lifers at our Mini March for Life, standing shoulder to shoulder with those on the front lines. Cincinnati Right to Life was one of the first pro-life organizations in Ohio to endorse then-candidate JD Vance, recognizing his commitment to defending life. Today, as Vice President of the United States, we rely on him to continue being a bold advocate for the preborn from Washington. His powerful remarks at the National March for Life serve as a reminder that leadership rooted in conviction can—and does—make a difference.

Looking Ahead with Hope

Each of these moments from 2025 reflects perseverance, faithfulness, and the unmistakable hand of God at work through Cincinnati Right to Life. We are deeply grateful to our donors, supporters, volunteers, and prayer warriors whose generosity and commitment made these victories possible.
