The Truth Prevails about Transgenderism
On Wednesday, Ohio’s Senate voted 24-8 to override Governor Mike DeWine’s December 29th veto of HB68. This House Bill includes the SAFE (Saving Adolescents From Experimentation) Act and the Save Women’s Sports Act. The SAFE Act will prohibit physicians from performing experimental gender-reassignment surgery on minors and from prescribing cross-sex hormones or drugs to block puberty for the purpose of gender transition. The Save Women’s Sport Act will protect girls from being forced to share locker rooms with and compete against boys in school athletics. HB68 will take effect in 90 days.
Every pro-life organization in Ohio supported this House Bill and called for members to contact State Representatives and Senators urging an override of the veto. Seventy percent of Ohioans support this law that will protect children from this dangerous ideology as well as protect female athletes. Cincinnati Right to Life is grateful for the voices and votes of our Ohio lawmakers that rallied behind this bill. Over twenty states have passed laws protecting people from the damaging hormones and ideology that has rapidly surged in our culture.
Planned Parenthood is a leading promoter of gender ideology, profiting from administering the dangerous drugs to minors and adults. Cincinnati Right to Life has consistently worked to abolish the anti-human work of Planned Parenthood where the prey on and exploit the human person for profit. The Auburn Avenue facility that kills over 3,000 preborn babies annually also promotes confusing minors in regards to their gender as God created them from the moment of conception.
Before 2007, there was no extant scientific literature of teenage girls having gender dysphoria in the U.S., said science writer Abigail Shrier, JD. Today, teenage girls are the leading demographic of persons treated for what is alleged to be gender dysphoria, she said.

In the presentation, Shrier answered the question as to why there is this movement to immerse kids in gender ideology. Shrier said, “The point of gender ideology is to stop the formation of stable families — the building block of American life. Let me say this again. This is not the goal of all transgender adults, but it is the goal of transgender ideology and the transgender movement — namely the creation of a new victim class eager to join the revolution.”
The destruction of the stable family is a common denominator between abortion and transgender ideology.
From The Heritage Foundation: The rise in abortion and the collapse of marriage are intrinsically linked; 85 percent of abortions occur among non-married women. Some 35 percent of pregnancies among non-married women are ended by abortion. Among married women, the figure is 3 percent.
Abortion and transgenderism are directly connected by way of both being attacks on the human person and attacks on marriage and the family.
Again, we thank our Ohio lawmakers for representing the citizens of Ohio in the override of the veto by Governor De Wine who by his veto was giving Planned Parenthood the opportunity to continue to profit from administering these harmful drugs. This seems to be the third time Governor DeWine has overlooked the evil ways of Planned Parenthood, our nation’s largest killer of preborn children and largest promoter of trans ideology.
When Covid began in March of 2020, Governor De Wine and his administration left 9 abortion facilities open while all other Ohio surgical centers were closed. Governor DeWine also appointed Amy Acton, a former fundraiser for Planned Parenthood, to serve as Executive Director of the Ohio Department of Health.
It is great news that 90 days from now in Ohio, Planned Parenthood will not be able to profit from harming children outside the womb with these hormones. The dismemberment, poisoning and suffocation of children in the womb by Planned Parenthood is vile enough.
