Ohio and Michigan are both losers
OHIO AND MICHIGAN ARE BOTH
LOSERS WHEN IT COMES TO ABORTION
The border between Ohio and Michigan is 311 miles long. Ohioans are proud of our heritage of being first in flight while Michiganders can boast the foundation of the auto industry. Michigan has their pizza chain (Domino’s) and Ohio has our cheeseburgers (Wendy’s). (And BTW, both companies have pro-life foundations). And of course Big Ten Football and the rivalry between the Buckeyes and the Wolverines has kept the states jesting one another for over 100 years.
In November of 2022, less than 6 months after Roe had been overturned, Ohioans watched in horror and with warning as Michigan enshrined abortion through all 9 months into their state’s Constitution. In the November 2022 election, Michiganders voted 57% to 43% in favor of Prop 3, their abortion amendment. Surely Ohio is better than Michigan?
With grief and horror in our hearts for what happened in our northern neighboring state, Ohio pro-life leaders never imagined this same destructive fate for the Buckeye State. After all, our statehouse demographics are quite different than Michigan’s. In the 2022 election, Michigan Democrats claimed victory in both chambers and rabidly pro-abortion Governor Gretchen Whitmer was re-elected.
In Ohio during the same election cycle, Governor DeWine defeated rabid abortion promoter Nan Whaley, 63% to 37% and Ohio maintained a majority in both statehouse chambers. Surely this spelled victory against the defeat of Ohio’s Issue 1?
The Michigan politics seemed to bleed south on November 7, 2023 and Ohio lost our Issue 1 vote with the exact same outcome as Michigan, 57% to 43%. We are 6 days away from legalized full-term abortion in Ohio’s Constitution and the shock and disgust remain real.
Ohio and Michigan are both losers when it comes to abortion
In 2022, Ohio and Michigan combined for
a total of 48,562 abortions.
This is just under HALF of the total of fans that fit in “The Big House” in Ann Arbor or “The Horseshoe” in Columbus. DISGUSTING. When you watch the “Big Game” next year in Columbus and see the stadium packed with 102,000 fans, think to yourself, this is how many pre-born children have been silenced and slaughtered in Ohio and Michigan in 2022 and 2023 combined. Disgusting. Ohio and Michigan are both losers.
