Infanticide, or infant homicide, is the intentional killing of a child within a year of birth. It is usually committed when the child has some mental or physical challenge. Infanticide is a direct result of abortion-on-demand's cheapening of human life.
Although technically illegal in the United States, evidence exists that proves some children born alive after abortion are killed or left to die. Abortionists and pro-death politicians alike have accepted, promoted, and committed infanticide.

In 2019, Virginia's Governor Ralph Northam showed his support for infanticide when he commented on a pro-abortion bill raised by the legislature. He said, "So in this particular example, if the mother is in labor, I can tell you exactly what would happen: The infant would be delivered; the infant would be kept comfortable; the infant would be resuscitated if that's what the mother and the family desire, and then a discussion would ensue between the physicians and the mother."
The Center for Medical Progress shares video of sworn testimony in 2019 from Planned Parenthood and other abortion affiliates that describes babies who have been born alive, harvested for organs, and left to die inside abortion facilities. In the infamous case of the trafficking of baby body parts exposed by David Daleiden and Sandra Merritt, the state of California implies that infanticide is not a crime after a failed abortion.
