Weekly Update – Week Six

National Team Visit & Closing Day Prayer Hour of Thanksgiving

The National Team Visit – On Tuesday evening, between 60 and 70 of us welcomed national 40 Days for Life team members Heather Gardner, Dr. Haywood Robinson and his wife Daphne and Kristi Hofferber to the sidewalk in front of Planned Parenthood. They were in town for the Heartbeat International convention and we were honored to have them take the time to be with our local campaign.

Heather Gardner led off with a prayer and relayed the story of a winsome response she witnessed while praying at a 40 Days for Life location. When confronted by someone who asked what the pro-lifer was doing for the homeless, he gently and sincerely asked the woman what she does for the homeless so he could perhaps learn from her. This led to a conversation which softened the woman’s stance towards pro-lifers.

Kristi Hofferber gave her testimony of learning her birth mother had been a victim of abuse for 20 years by a family member and that Kristi was conceived through that abuse. Her birth mother said that meeting Kristi years later and being accepted by her was a healing moment.

Dr. Robinson told the story of his path from performing abortions to becoming pro-life and his conversion to Christ (which was 40 years ago this week!). Commenting on Kristi’s story, he said, “where there’s life, there’s hope.”

Sunday, March 29, 2:00pm – Closing Prayer Hour of Thanksgiving –
