Pro-Life groups counter Planned Parenthood’s bus with life-affirming support near DNC

Pro-lifers traveled to the Democratic National Convention (DNC) in Chicago this week to counter Planned Parenthood’s free abortion and vasectomy mobile facility and offer life-affirming support and choices to women.

Planned Parenthood of Great Rivers parked a bus outside of the DNC on Monday and Tuesday and booked appointments there for free abortion pills, vasectomies, and emergency contraception. The abortion corporation claimed it had 25 spots open for free abortions and 10 vasectomies — and that it had booked them all.

Upon hearing the news, several pro-life groups jumped into action.

On Tuesday, the pro-life diaper company EveryLife announced it would provide a lifetime supply of free diapers to pregnant mothers. “EveryLife is partnering with Sidewalk Advocates for Life and the life-affirming mobile medical unit from ThriVe Nation, equipped with ultrasound services, who are on the ground in Chicago, outside the DNC, to provide a lifetime supply of EveryLife diapers to any pregnant mom seeking an abortion at the Planned Parenthood abortion/vasectomy bus who chooses life instead,” EveryLife said in a statement.

EveryLife Co-Founder and President Sarah Gabel Seifert explained, “While Planned Parenthood mocks and contributes to the devaluing of the family unit and demise of our nation, EveryLife will continue to champion life and parenthood. We are honored to provide a tangible resource to help moms in need choose life, knowing that diapers can be the difference between life and death for a baby.”

Sidewalk Advocates for Life provided updates on Facebook from the DNC, as volunteers handed out gift bags alongside the ThriVe pregnancy mobile unit. In a second update, the group said, “We’ve been on-site at the DNC across from Planned Parenthood’s abortion and vasectomy bus for a few hours now, working alongside ThriVe’s pregnancy mobile unit to bring real choices and support to women considering abortion.”

Americans United for Life (AUL) was also present, announcing on Tuesday, “Americans United for Life is going to be on the ground TODAY with our partners offering compassionate and alternative choices for the women of Chicago.”

AUL later shared that, from their observation, Planned Parenthood’s mobile unit was not as busy as the abortion business had claimed.

“A few take aways from today,” the pro-life organization wrote on Facebook on Tuesday evening. “1. The Planned Parenthood bus was not ‘fully booked’ as they claimed. We only saw a few people walking into the bus, the vast majority of visitors were media. 2. The complex and personal decisions of pregnant women should not be treated as a game. Abortion is not a trivial topic to be treated like a roadside attraction or booth at a carnival. 3. Alternative choices work. When honestly presenting with supportive options 80% of women choose life. The DNC should support all choices for women not just abortion.”

Democrats for Life was also present at the DNC, raising “nearly FIVE THOUSAND DOLLARS to provide the local Chicago community and immigrants with free diapers!” the group announced on Facebook.

As for Planned Parenthood’s abortion/vasectomy bus, according to the New York Post, “While [Planned Parenthood] organizers claimed the stunt was ‘not political,’ they said the message behind the truck was to promote reproductive healthcare accessibility and garner headlines.”
