Letter from CRTL ED: America’s Flagship Planned Parenthood has ended their killing!

The Flagship Planned Parenthood of America is CLOSED and Being Sold – Why this is BIG News for Cincinnati

A letter from Cincinnati Right to Life Executive Director Laura Strietmann

Dear Cincinnati Right to Life friends and community,

Praise the Lord. A miracle has happened!

Yesterday, after hitting refresh on my computer, and hitting refresh again, because I could not believe what I was reading, I decided to check mainstream news sources. I even rubbed my eyes and checked Babylon Bee to make sure their satirical reporting had not become contagious. Our God is an awesome God, and through His mysterious ways, only known to Him, the flagship Planned Parenthood in America is CLOSED.

Located at 26 Bleeker Street, in the Greenwich Village neighborhood of Manhattan, NYC, the massive killing facility and headquarters of Planned Parenthood Greater New York, had been executing pre-born babies at this location since 1992.

Planned Parenthood Founder, Margaret Sanger, Library of Congress

In 1993 the intersection of Bleeker and Mott in the long-time hip New York neighborhood, was named the “Margaret Sanger Square” in honor of Planned Parenthood’s founder, a self-professed racist and eugenics pioneer. Sanger famously said in a letter to Dr. Clarence Gamble (Yes, an heir of Proctor & Gamble), “We do not want word to go out that we want to exterminate the Negro population…”

Even though Planned Parenthood disavowed Sanger in 2020, citing her past record with eugenics and racism, the New York City Council approved in 2021 the removal of the street sign marking Margaret Sanger Square. In another shocking turn of events, The New York Times wrote what has turned out to be a “hit piece” on Planned Parenthood.

Last month, while in a meeting with pro-life colleagues from around the nation, it was shared by east-coast pro-life leaders that the Manhattan Planned Parenthood had not been able to find an abortionist willing to continue the killing on Bleeker Street. Because of this, the business had not dismembered preborn babies since the beginning of the year.

Hampered for several months while searching for staff, the facility committed to close for good after the NY Times hit-piece article. The building is now for sale. Planned Parenthood of Greater New York shared, “PPGNY is fighting to overcome social and political obstacles and structural challenges within the country’s health system.” The for-profit organization went on to refer to their killing facilities in Brooklyn, the Bronx, and Queens. (Of course they did.)

This abortion facility is responsible for the deaths of hundreds of thousands of preborn children. Mothers and fathers made the choice to kill their children at this dark, tragic site. The hearts of mothers and fathers were broken here while the bodies of their babies were broken.

long-time 40 Days for Life location, this abortion business has also been home to an innumerable number of pro-life protests and prayer rallies. New Yorkers and life-defenders from around the world prayed unceasingly here, knowing it would take an act of God to overcome the evil. Week after week, rally after rally, pro-lifers never lost their trust in the Lord and maintained persistent in prayer and sacrifice.

I have prayed at the intersection of Bleeker and Mott quite a few times, making a pilgrimage to this location of death each time I am in New York, a city I love. Most recently, I prayed here in July of 2024, begging the Lord to change hearts and minds and close this abomination of a business in the Big Apple.

The closing of this facility is impactful for Cincinnati for MANY reasons.

1. The Planned Parenthood on Auburn Avenue in Cincinnati was also once formerly named the “Margaret Sanger Center” but changed its name as it became more widely known Planned Parenthood’s founder intended to eliminate the black population through abortion. (Her legacy is succeeding in Hamilton County, where 3 of 4 abortions in 2023 were on precious black babies.)

2. Just like the preborn baby killing business in Manhattan injured and maimed mothers while convincing them abortion was “healthcare,” the Cincinnati preborn child death facility also injures women during abortion procedures. Ambulance runs to the Planned Parenthood on Auburn Avenue are witnessed by our sidewalk team.

3. Just like the killing facility on Bleeker Street in Manhattan was a “flagship” location of death and destruction, the Planned Parenthood in Cincinnati is also now a “flagship” of death. 600 vehicles enter the facility weekly now that Ohio has legal on-demand late-term abortion enshrined in the Constitution. It is utter madness on Auburn Avenue on killing days and Planned Parenthood brags about their increased killing.

4. While New York is a crazy liberal abortion-mecca, Ohio is now not far behind with our radical pro-abortion laws. In beautiful Ohio, with every law protecting the sanctity of life in the womb being dismembered and discarded, Ohio may soon have more abortions than New York state. Yes, in pro-death NY, an abortion facility closed.

We can shut them down in Ohio too!

This is why the closing of this facility is BIG NEWS for Cincinnati!

Just like the prayer teams in NYC trusted in the Lord and stayed the course in prayer and activism, we too in Cincinnati remain stronger than ever!

Our 40 Days for Life campaign on Auburn Avenue is happening NOW! Please join us by signing up here: 40 Days for Life Sign-up.  As a reminder, this is our second campaign with prayer presence for 24-hours each day. We could always use more men to pray in the evening hours by registering in the link above.

And……Cincinnati Right to Life has committed our organization to fight the darkness and evil of Ohio abortion at a whole new level.

Tune into 700 WLW on Friday at 12:30 for a huge announcement on our dedication to end the killing in Cincinnati.

The pro-life community in Cincinnati will stay the course and trust in the Lord knowing He is working in ways we cannot even see!

The board, staff, and volunteers of CRTL THANK YOU for your continued support and trust in our mission! You will be part of God’s great story when the radical loss of life and preborn baby killing ends in Cincinnati.

And praise the Lord, I am still smiling from the miracle in New York! This news is joy-filled and so very encouraging!

With enormous gratitude,

Laura Strietmann
