Sixteen Years...
Since the death of Terri Schiavo
(Cincinnati, OH) - Today marks sixteen years since Terri Schiavo was dehydrated and starved to death by the order of a court, obtained by her estranged husband. Bobby Schindler, Terri's brother and founder of the Terri Schiavo Life and Hope Network, sits on Cincinnati Right to Life's Board of Directors. Since Terri's death, Bobby has fought to save others from similar fates. Unfortunately, our society has come to see the elderly and disabled only as burdens. We see case after case around the world where food and water are withheld from such patients who ultimately die of dehydration. Food and water are basic care. They do not constitute extraordinary care and should never be withheld from someone.
