Cincinnati Right to Life Announces New Executive Director

As current Executive Director Meg DeBlase steps down to embrace a role as full-time mother in her home, Laura Bride Strietmann gratefully joins Cincinnati Right to Life as our next leader. Laura will begin on Tuesday, September 28th.

With fifteen years of front line pro-life non-profit leadership experience, God has seen to it that Laura is well-prepared for this challenging role. For the past five years, Laura has enjoyed traveling the world to introduce the newly developed human dignity curriculum from Ruah Woods Press, as an International Curriculum Consultant and Director of Sales. By meeting with Directors of Family Life Offices, Superintendents, and Catholic Bishops in America and abroad, as well as, presenting on the value of all human life from conception to natural death, Laura’s passion and ache for pro-life leadership work has deepened. Traveling for Ruah Woods, Laura prayed outside the local abortion clinics in every city she visited, totaling over one hundred twenty-five opportunities. Journeying to deliver pro-life presentations in Calcutta and other regions in India just before the COVID lockdowns was a highlight of Laura’s tenure with Ruah Woods.

Previously, Laura devoted ten years to Pregnancy Center East (PCE) where she worked as Associate Director, Volunteer Recruiter and Trainer, Fundraiser, Client Advocate and more (you know pro-life work!). Her passion for defending the unborn expanded her heart with each family she served, as she simultaneously honed her leadership abilities in guiding so many confused and hurting clients. During her time at PCE, Laura conceptualized, raised funds for, and produced a remake of an outdated abortion procedure video. An Informed Look has been translated into multiple languages and is currently available through a national pro-life catalog. This educational video still reaches thousands with the reality of abortion tools and techniques. It is intentionally non-graphic and is still used today to help clients make a fully informed life decision.

Developing relationships with lawmakers and continuing to educate and witness the proof of a life decision is a vital asset of Laura’s pro-life work.  Laura has testified before Congress as part of Heartbeat International’s “Babies Go to Congress” in Washington, D.C. with a mom and her twins that Laura assisted in a life decision. Sitting in federal court rooms alongside friend and past Executive Director Paula Westwood, as well as traveling to Columbus testifying for Ohio’s Heartbeat Bill in service to make abortion illegal are an extended part of Laura’s mission to serve the unborn and uphold human dignity. For the past three years Laura has served as a District Vice President for the Right to Life Action Coalition of Ohio.

Possessing a love of learning, Laura has received extensive continuing education through International Life Services in Orange County, CA. Areas of concentration in her formation for pro-life leadership work include growing in knowledge on ministering to families who are making a pregnancy decision, serving post-abortive men and women, abortion recovery and ministering to women who have had multiple abortions, all with a pastoral heart.  Laura also attended The Athenaeum of Ohio and completed full course work at the Theology of the Body Institute, learning even more about compassionately and effectively conveying one’s inherent dignity while defending the gift of life.

As a consistently active participant in 40 Days for Life, various prayer vigils, multiple protests for the injustice of abortion, and the annual March for Life in Washington, D.C., Laura is well-known and recognized by many of the dedicated workers of the pro-life movement in Cincinnati and beyond.

She is the mother of three adult children, a daughter, two sons and a daughter-in-law, and a parishioner at St. Rose. In her free time, Laura enjoys traveling to Catholic shrines, reading and is an avid tennis fan and former player. She is the author of several children’s books proclaiming the dignity of the human person.

Laura looks forward to being back in Cincinnati full-time and serving alongside the steadfast life warriors within our community. She counts on your support, participation, and prayers to continue as she answers the call to make our region abortion-free and for all life to be respected at all stages in recognition of the sacred gift it is.
