Contact: Mary Clark, Cincinnati Campaign Leader
We are on Day 15 of this campaign and I want to thank all those who have already come to pray at our vigil site or who have let me know that they can’t make it to the site but are praying at home for all the intentions of the campaign. If you are praying at home, try to keep track of the hours you are praying for the campaign and I’ll include the number in my report to the national headquarters at the end of the campaign.
Also, thanks to those who fill in open hours on short notice. It’s so gratifying to see how fast some of you respond when I put out the call! Remember that even after someone else has consented to fill in an hour you are still welcome to also come to pray. Sometimes unexpected things come up and if one person is scheduled to pray and then can’t show up at the last minutes, we’re left with a gap.
Last week I briefly mentioned a save at our site. I received a very welcome report from the lady who talked to the mother about the interaction that took place between them. It started with our vigil participant “advocate” (and long-time pro-life activist) asking the mother who was standing on the sidewalk if she was waiting for the bus. She was waiting for a ride.
She then walked down the Planned Parenthood driveway and after a little while she came back out and sat on the front steps. Our advocate was able talk to the mother (“C”) through the fence and she was open to talking. It turns out “C” thought she was scheduled for an ultrasound, but the receptionist at PP said there was a mistake and she was only scheduled for a pregnancy test. Of course, PP wanted her to reschedule, but our advocate was able to convince “C” to go to Pregnancy Center East for the ultrasound and further help. One good thing is “C’s” boyfriend does not want an abortion.
I’ll save details for next week, but pray for C, her boyfriend and their baby, God bless our advocate and praise to the Holy Spirit for bringing her to PP at the right time!
