Pro-life groups across Ohio call on the Governor to sign the Heartbeat Bill.
For Immediate Release
December 21, 2018
Yesterday, Cincinnati Right to Life was proud to join
dozens of pro-life groups across the state in sending a letter to Governor Kasich calling on him to sign the Heartbeat Bill.
The letter urges the Governor not to veto the bill saying,
“We, the undersigned, represent a substantial and diverse grassroots coalition of pro-family and pro-life Ohioans. We respectfully request that you reconsider your public comments promising to veto House Bill 258, the Ohio Human Heartbeat Protection Act.”

Both the Ohio House of Representatives and the Ohio Senate passed the Heartbeat Bill and it was sent to the Governor’s office on Friday, December 14th. House Bill 258 bans abortions on babies when a fetal heartbeat can be detected. The Heartbeat Bill is not perfect, because babies will still die from abortion. However, this bill will save thousands of babies’ lives in our state. We are grateful for our State Representatives and Senators who have worked tirelessly to get us to this point. Our work, however, is not yet finished…
1. Pray that Governor Kasich will have a change of heart and either sign the Heartbeat Bill, or take no action.
2. Call the Governor’s Office asking him to do the right thing by signing the Human Heartbeat Protection Act. The phone number is 614-466-3555.
The Governor has until December 26th to sign the bill, veto the bill, or take no action (in which case the bill will become law).
