Including “Way of the Cross for Victims of Abortion”
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE, March 22, 2018 (Cincinnati, OH) – from 40 Days for Life Cincinnati campaign leader Mary Clark:
The 2018 Spring 40 Days for Life campaign ends this Sunday. PLEASE JOIN US FOR OUR CLOSING DAY PRAYER HOUR OF THANKSGIVING at 3pm this Sunday, Palm Sunday, March 25th.
Our speaker and prayer leader will be Deacon Mark Machuga, Director of the Office of the Diaconate, Archdiocese of Cincinnati.
Meet at Holy Name Church, 2448 Auburn Avenue, to process to abortion site praying “A Way of the Cross for Victims of Abortion.” Feel free to bring palms to carry in the procession. We will need seven men to carry crosses commemorating the Stations.
We conducted this at the closing of last year’s spring campaign and it was well received. Deacon Machuga will lead the Way of the Cross. The remainder of the program, including remarks by Deacon Machuga, will take place when we arrive at Planned Parenthood. Mark and his wife Julie have been supporters of 40 Days for Life in Cincinnati from the very beginning and they very much believe in the mission of the campaign.
We will review the highlights of the campaign, including the fact that during the course of the campaign, several people were able to talk to young women who were planning to abort or who decided not to do so. If you have a reflection from your prayer times during the campaign that you would like to share, there will be time to do so. No sign up necessary. Park at Holy Name Church, 2448 Auburn Avenue or near Planned Parenthood and walk to Holy Name Church . Families welcome.
It’s always good for us to come together for these group events since we are often praying with a small group or alone on the rest of the days of the campaign. It gives me a chance to thank you in person for your efforts also. I will be bringing copies of the original printing of the 40 Days for Life book (40 DAYS FOR LIFE – Discover What God Has Done…Imagine What He Can Do). They are $5.00 per copy for the 272 page book.
The book is laid out as 40 stories from various campaign locations around the country with a scripture verse and short prayer after each story. It makes for a good meditation during a campaign or anytime. Some parishes have bought copies and circulated them in their congregations to familiarize people with 40 Days for Life so that they might join them during the next campaign. Give it to your pastor first!
