Personal Encounters for Good
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE, March 16, 2018 (Cincinnati, OH) – from 40 Days for Life Cincinnati campaign leader Mary Clark:
As anyone who has ever prayed at Planned Parenthood knows, getting a chance to speak to anyone entering or leaving the building is not something that happens often. However, in the last three weeks, two different women praying in front of the abortion mill as part of 40 Days for Life have been able to talk to two other women who had been in the building.
The first one was waiting for a ride with her friend and asked what our participant’s sign said. They began to converse and the young woman told our vigil participant she was scheduled for an abortion a few days after their conversation. I did not have a chance to get that information to you in time, but the vigil participant went out of her way to be at the gate on the day of the scheduled abortion in hopes that she would see the young woman again and be able to convince her to not go through with the abortion.
We don’t know the outcome, but pray that something our vigil participant said to the young woman when they first talked made an impression on her and she didn’t show up for her appointment.
The second encounter took place on Wednesday. Here’s what our vigil participant wrote (with some edits):
“I just met a woman coming out of the abortion clinic and walked her to the Life Center (Life Forward Pregnancy Care of Cincinnati). Her name is Kathrine. She is pregnant and professes to be a Christian.
Kathrine had an abortion before and said she would never do that again. But this pregnancy she said she didn’t know what to do so she scheduled an abortion and paid the deposit. Today she asked for the deposit back and left. That’s when I met her and took her to the Center….
Praise God!” She added: “…I think the key to the encounter was that she had a change of heart and the courage to walk out but when she came out to the sidewalk she actually said to me “I don’t know what to do now.”
So I was glad I could be there to direct her to where to get help….I have to say too that the woman at the Life Center was so welcoming when she greeted us. Katherine was in good hands.”
There are still hours in need of prayer coverage during the final weeks of this campaign. Go to www.40daysforlife.com/cincinnati and check the online calendar then sign up for hours of prayer.
PLEASE JOIN US FOR OUR CLOSING DAY PRAYER HOUR OF THANKSGIVING at 3pm on Palm Sunday, March 25th. For details, see EVENTS on our website.
