National Leader Kicks Off 10th Year Anniversary
It was a very inspiring kickoff rally in Cincinnati on Wednesday evening, the first day of the fall 40 Days for Life campaign. Shawn Carney, president of 40 Days for Life, gave an enthusiastic speech to the sixty plus attendees in which he encouraged us to persevere in our public presence in front of Planned Parenthood on Auburn Avenue.
He congratulated us on ten years of taking part in the campaign and said it’s only a matter of time before our abortion site closes. His confidence is from seeing ninety other abortion mills close since 40 Days for Life began nationally in the fall of 2007.
Shawn said that abortion thrives on deception. He described what he saw inside the abortion mill in College Station, Texas, after it was closed in 2013. 40 Days for Life national headquarters bought the building and after the building was exorcised, he toured the facility.
He said Planned Parenthood took all equipment and furnishings out of the building except mobiles such as people hang over their babies cribs. They were hanging over the place where the abortion tables had stood. They were what the women were to look at during the abortions. He said it was heartbreaking.
Shawn remarked on the wonderful area pregnancy centers and the fact that in the U.S. there are five times as many of them as there are abortion mills.
A special thanks to Fr. Jerome Bishop for his wonderful opening prayer, Joan Rios for reading from the Scripture, Teressa and Felicity Kenny’s beautiful singing, Paula Westwood for the update on those working in the abortion facility that we should prayer for, and those who took photos and recorded the hour on video.
See our Facebook page (www.facebook.com/40daysforlifecincinnati) for photos. Thank you for the unity in song and prayer of all who came to help us kickoff what we hope is a wonderful campaign.
