Bobby Schindler To Testify Against Ohio MOLST
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE, April 18, 2016 (Cincinnati, OH) – Protections for the medically vulnerable – elderly, disabled, and chronically ill – are at risk. California recently became the fourth state to legalize assisted suicide; New York State is under attack to do so, then other states to be targeted, including Ohio.
A MOLST (Medical Orders for Life Sustaining Treatment) bill has been introduced in Ohio Senate Civil Justice Committee as Senate Bill 165 – sponsor Senator Peggy Lehner (Montgomery County); co-sponsors Senators Bill Seitz (Hamilton) and Shannon Jones (Butler, Hamilton, Warren).
S.B. 165 is scheduled to receive a final hearing and possible vote to release to the floor of the full Senate this Wednesday, April 20th.
Leading human rights advocate, Bobby Schindler, President, Terri Schiavo Life & Hope Network, will be testifying against Ohio MOLST.
“Medical Orders for Life Sustaining Treatment encourage medically vulnerable patients or their surrogates to make critical care decisions,” said Mr. Schindler. “Enshrining MOLST in law is a first step toward opening the door to covert euthanasia and assisted suicide.”
