House Bills 417 and 419 Passed out of Committee
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE, April 13, 2016 (Cincinnati, OH) – Today the Ohio House Health & Aging Committee voted to approve House Bills 417 and 419 to ensure humane disposal of aborted babies bodies.
The bills were prompted after Attorney General Mike DeWine’s investigated whether state abortion facilities are properly disposing of aborted babies’ remains, due to evidence of improper procedures found in other states. His investigation discovered that abortionists are ignoring Ohio code requiring humane disposal of these babies’ bodies.
“At the very least, little aborted victims of inhumane death deserve some measure of respect and dignity in final disposition,” said Paula Westwood, Executive Director, Right to Life of Greater Cincinnati. “House Bills 417 and 419 bills ensure that these babies’ bodies are not mistreated as garbage.”
HB 419 sponsored by Reps. Tim Ginter (Salem) and Barbara Sears (Toledo), and HB 417 sponsored by Reps. Kyle Koehler (Springfield) and Robert McColley (Napoleon) will go to the floor of the House for full vote, yet to be scheduled.
Senator Joe Uecker (Miami Township) is sponsoring companion Senate Bill 254 in the Ohio Senate.
