Lead Sponsor Provides Testimony
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE, June 24, 2015 (Cincinnati, OH): Yesterday, Representative Christina Hagan (R-Alliance) gave sponsor testimony on the Abortion-Inducing Drug Safety Act (H.B. 255) in the Ohio House Committee on Community and Family Advancement.
Representative Hagan and Representative Tom Brinkman (R-Cincinnati) are lead sponsor for this bill, to limit use of abortion-inducing chemicals to those labeled expressly for such purpose by the FDA, and according to instructions for use. “Abortionists are using off label drugs to avoid following the guidelines already specified in Ohio law specifically for RU-486 chemical abortions,” said Paula Westwood, Executive Director, Right to Life of Greater Cincinnati. “At minimum, women deserve protection from exploitation and experimentation with any chemical poison devised to destroy their unborn child.” The bill has support of other Right to Life organizations, including Ohio Right to Life. It will receive additional committee hearings, before vote to release to the full House of Representatives.
