Knights of Columbus Pro-Life Memorial
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE, May 26, 2015 (Cincinnati, OH): The Knights of Columbus, Archdiocese of Cincinnati Bishop Joseph Binzer, and area pro-life organizations including Cincinnati Right to Life will participate in a rededication of the Rachel Statue, Saturday, June 13, 2015, 11 a.m. at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, 11000 Montgomery Rd, Cincinnati, OH 45249.
The Rachel figure has become an icon for the pro-life movement, and the Knights of Columbus seek to emphasize respect and protection for the dignity and sanctity of human life through the prayers to be offered that day.
The Rachel Statue was originally dedicated August 1, 1998, the fifth such statue or memorial placed at local cemeteries by the Knights of Columbus. Bishop Moedel blessed the statue that day, and the late Dr. and Mrs. Jack Willke participated in the program.
All are welcome to attend this meaningful event. The program will last for approximately one hour, and will include praying the Rosary.
Refreshments will be served afterwards in the Cemetery Administration Building.
