To Bring Thousands to Newport Riverfront
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE, May 13, 2015 (Cincinnati, OH) – Marking its 10th anniversary celebration, more than 4,000 tri-state residents will gather at Newport’s Riverfront Row festival area, Sunday, June 7, 2015 in a joyful show of support for the sanctity of human life at every age, religious liberty and conscience rights.
Beginning this year at Newport’s Riverfront Row due to the event’s increase in size, all are invited to participate in this anniversary event as thousands of people cross the Purple People Bridge and fill it with the joy of life.
Festivities begin at 1:00 p.m. including music by Trybe Band (Totally Radical Young Believers Engaged in Worship), face painting, balloon artists, free picnic, and more!
The walk begins after a brief program at 2 p.m. featuring emcee Matt Swaim, host of the Son Rose Morning Show, Sacred Heart Radio/EWTN; plus the Most Reverend Dennis Schnurr, Archdiocese of Cincinnati; the Most Reverend Roger Foys, Diocese of Covington; and Pastor Eric Petree, CityGate Church, West Chester, Ohio.
Bagpipers from the Ancient Order of Hibernians will once again lead walkers across the bridge. The event will end back at Riverfront Row with a free picnic by JTM Food Group, and more music by Trybe. Several food trucks will also have treats for purchase.
This year’s honored Defender of Life is Brian Patrick, executive producer, EWTN News Nightly. Brian served for many years as Cross the Bridge for Life’s Honorary Chairman.
Brian’s name, face, and voice are also familiar locally as a television news anchor, multimedia director for the Business Courier, former host of the Son Rise Morning Show on Sacred Heart Radio, and co-host of EWTN’s television program Crossing the Goal, which uses a sports show format to encourage men to get into spiritual shape.
A coalition of more than 20 area pro-life organizations presents Cross the Bridge for Life–a positive, family-friendly event for the entire community.
