Ohio Representatives Stand for Life
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE – February 17, 2015 (Cincinnati, OH) – Ohio’s Heartbeat Bill was reintroduced again today in the Ohio House of Representatives. H.B. 69 lead sponsors are Representatives Ron Hood and Christina Hagan, along with 50 co-sponsors. Ohio’s Heartbeat Bill protects unborn babies from abortion once a heartbeat is detected, as early as six weeks gestation. This significant legislation could protect over 90% of the over 23,600 Ohio children at risk from death by abortion on demand. “Where there is a heartbeat there is life,” said Paula Westwood, Executive Director, Right to Life of Greater Cincinnati. “While every baby deserves protection from earliest spark of life in conception, Ohio’s Heartbeat Bill is a huge step towards that goal.”
First introduced in Ohio, the Heartbeat bill has become a model for other states working on similar bills, including courageously in North Dakota and Arkansas.
