Thank You to Those Who Stood Firm for Life
For Immediate Release, December 11, 2014 (Columbus, OH) – Ohio ProLife Action reports frustration and disappointment in the vote that failed to add Heartbeat Bill language into session-end legislation in the Ohio House. The move was defeated last night with only 47 yeas (50 needed), 40 nays and 11 not voting.
“We stand aware of how the vote flushed out and will remember those who stood in favor, those who opposed and those who just walked away and didn’t vote at all,” said Linda Theis, President, Ohio ProLife Action.
“It is very sad indeed when we can’t depend on some of those who claim to be pro-life, some of whom have even been endorsed by other pro-life groups in Ohio,” Theis added.
OPLA will remain diligent to build rapport with the true pro-life legislators and will continue to try to influence those who either: 1) really did not want to vote for the bill; or 2) simply fell to leadership pressure.
Heartfelt thanks to those who voted FOR the addition of the Heartbeat Bill language.
