Fall Campaign Final Friday Vigil & Sunday Closing Program
October 31, 2014 (Cincinnati, OH) –
From Mary Clark, Cincinnati 40 Days for Life campaign director
Vigils at Planned Parenthood, 2314 Auburn Ave., Clifton
We don’t ask vigil participants to attempt to talk to those entering PP. Some do feel called to do so, but 40 Days for Life is first of all about prayer and fasting. But a few days ago I was drawn to stand near the entrance gate and observed three cars coming in over an hour’s time. Each had a woman driving and a young female passenger.
Sometimes people ask how we know if those entering are coming for abortions. Here’s how: Two of the young women in the cars sat hunched over, heads down with sad looks on their faces. The third looked with bewildered eyes at my sign, “Pray to End Abortion,” and then the car disappeared down the driveway. I wish they would have stopped to learn that there are alternatives. I pray they know that we care and will continue to pray for them.
Reminder: Join us Friday, Oct. 31, from 7-8pm as Bishop Binzer leads our group prayer and Sunday, Nov. 2, from 3-4pm when Fr. Whitaker will join us for our closing Hour of Thanksgiving. If you can’t make it at those times, you can join others on the sidewalk anytime from 7am-7pm these last three days of the campaign. DRESS WARMLY!
Vigils at Women’s Med Center, Sharonville As we approach the end of the 2014 Fall Campaign, I want to thank you for the prayers, the fasting and your presence during this vigil.
It’s been an exciting and fruitful one.
Yes, our prayers are being answered…. The Sharonville abortion clinic only opens two days a week, they are not allowed to perform surgical abortions and the building is up for sale, but Haskell is still consulting and referring women to the Kettering facility. It is time for this clinic to shut down!
Yes we are getting closer to an abortion free Cincinnati! On October 24th Planned Parenthood in Mt. Auburn was notified that it is violating the same Ohio law that stopped the surgical abortions at the Sharonville clinic; and this is the first step on the legal process. We can only fight the battle ahead with our most powerful weapons: Prayers, Fasting and Vigils.
“Rejoice always. Pray without ceasing. In all circumstances give thanks, for this is the will of God for you in Christ Jesus. Do not quench the Spirit. (1 Thess. 5:16-19)
And we will not stop praying… For the closing of this 40 Days for Life/Sharonville Fall Campaign we will be uniting with the Vigil in Mt. Auburn for their “Closing Hour of Thanksgiving” from 3-4pm on Sunday (11/2) at Planned Parenthood.
Please join us as we joyfully acknowledge and thank the vigil participants with prayer and song.
Again I ask you for one hour of your time for those that cannot speak, vote or pray for themselves..;
