Urge Your Legislator’s Support
November 6, 2013 – Ohio Representative Andy Thompson (95th District) presented sponsor testimony today in the House Health & Aging Committee for H.B. 308, Ohio’s Ban on Human Cloning and Animal-Human Hybrids. The bill has eleven House co-sponsors.
For the past ten years Ohio Christian Alliance along with Cincinnati Right to Life and other pro-life organizations, have been working with the Ohio Legislature to ban human embryonic stem cell research, human cloning, and in recent years, animal-human hybrids.
Family Research Council’s senior fellow for life sciences, Dr. David Prentice, has previously testified in support of the bill and served as a subject-matter-expert for Ohio pro-life groups and legislators, and will do so again this session.
Dr. Prentice notes, “H.B. 308 provides common sense restrictions on human cloning and animal-human hybrids in Ohio. There are no valid medical or scientific gains that exist or will come from human cloning or hybrid techniques. Rather, these are abuses of science and should be prohibited. Our focus should be on lifesaving methods such as adult stem cells that put the patient first.”
Cincinnati Right to Life thanks Representative Andy Thompson and H.B. 308 co-sponsors of for taking the lead on this key legislation.
