Our site was one of those featured on the national daily update for Day 11 of the campaign. Two photos of Bishop Binzer and participants at our first Friday evening vigil can be found by going to 40daysforlife.com and clicking on “BLOG.” Then scroll to Day 11. Thanks to Joe Czyzyk for the photos.
I continue to receive notice that new people are signing up for the daily updates from the national team and new registrants are also submitting their contact information at the vigil schedule site. Those people will be receiving either an email or phone call thank you from me as soon as possible. I can answer any questions you might have about 40 Days for Life at that time. Don’t hesitate to contact me first though if you like.
We still have many vigil hours in need of prayer participants and I’d like to challenge you to take an hour per week during the campaign (Feb. 13 – Mar. 24) to come the Planned Parenthood to pray. As Fr. Frank Pavone of Priests for Life says, “This is a short-term assignment.” God bless those who already are committed to being there weekly or even daily.
Thought for this week: I was reminded recently that there are people who are opposed to abortion who nevertheless, maybe reluctantly, think that Planned Parenthood provides other services which those with meager financial means cannot receive in any other health care setting. Planned Parenthood and its vocal supporters in the government and media certainly want everyone to believe this.
It is the rallying cry they use whenever anyone suggests even the possibility that absolutely none of our tax dollars should be given to this organization. There are free-standing neighborhood clinics and hospital clinics which can provide medical care on a sliding scale for those who are in need.
Please don’t buy the idea that if Planned Parenthood did not exist there would be no place for the indigent to turn. Let me know if you want more information on alternatives to ever stepping foot in a Planned Parenthood for any reason.
