April 2, 2010 - The Cincinnati Right to Life Political Action Committee endorses Steve Chabot for U.S. Congress, 1st Congressional district.
The Cincinnati Right to Life PAC supports candidates for public office who will uphold the right to life for all innocent human beings. Steve Chabot has a long and distinguished public record of commitment to protection of human life from conception to natural death.
Most recently Mr. Chabot has been an articulate voice against the recently passed federal healthcare bill. This bill was unfortunately supported by Congressman Steve Driehaus, despite the clear opposition of the National Right to Life Committee, the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops and many other pro-life organizations, even after the addition of the Executive Order.
Cincinnati Right to Life continues to oppose this healthcare legislation due to its assaults on the sanctity of human life including federally funded abortion, rationing of healthcare for the elderly and other dependent people, and the lack of conscience protections for healthcare workers and institutions who do not want to participate in abortion and other immoral practices.
Congressman Driehaus also voted in 2009 against the Pence amendment to the Department of Health and Human Services budget-an amendment that would have removed all funding to Planned Parenthood. Planned Parenthood is the largest abortion chain in the country. Nothing can justify providing funding to the organization that kills more tiny pre-born babies than any other abortion provider in the nation.
Steve Chabot received the Warrior for Life award at Cincinnati Right to Life's Evening for Life in October 2009 for his pro-life championship while serving in Congress. The Cincinnati Right to Life Political Action Committee is pleased to again endorse him for Congress.
