March 19, 2010 - Ohio Right to Life - Thursday, March 18th, Sen. Steve Buehrer (R, Delta) introduced S.B. 243 in the Ohio Senate. S.B. 243 would ban:
- Creating, sending or receiving a cloned human embryo;
- Creating, transporting or receiving an animal-human hybrid;
- Transferring a non-human embryo into a human womb; and
- Transferring a human embryo into a non-human womb.
Violation of the statute could result in imprisonment for up to five years and, if the offender derives pecuniary gain from the violation, a fine of not less than one million dollars and not more than twice the amount of the gross pecuniary gain if it is more than one million dollars.
