40 Days for Life - Weekly Update 2 - Woman Helped Through Prayer Participants

March 11, 2010 - See this week's update from Mary Clark, Greater Cincinnati 40 Days for Life campaign leader (updated participating groups listed at end):

----
Maybe some of you have seen Tuesday's national update sent out by David Bereit, co-founder of 40 Days for Life. It makes you wonder if anything really happens by chance. Briefly, what happened is a woman who was scheduled for an abortion in Indianapolis was running late and called Planned Parenthood to see if she could still come in. She dialed the wrong number but it was really the RIGHT number. Believe it or not, she dialed the number of the cell phone that was being used by the local 40 Days for Life team to answer questions of vigil participants!

She consented to talk to a woman who is a counselor who found out that she was overwhelmed with her life -- four other children, loss of job, electricity shut off, rent problems, boyfriend in jail -- and thought an abortion would ease her problems. The 40 Days team is working now to try to help her with her immediate financial problems and even though she has not completely given up the idea of abortion she cannot believe these strangers are willing to help her in such concrete ways. Please pray for her and the thousands of others in similar situations.

Last week I mentioned a statistics from the Fall 2009 40 Days campaign. Here is another: Thirty-four percent of those who came to pray at an abortion mill during the Fall campaign had never taken part in any pro-life activity before. For those of you receiving this update who have not taken part yet, today is Day 24 of the campaign. There are still sixteen days that all have open times that need coverage. Please give me a call or email me if you are at all hesitant to take part so I can answer all your questions.

Thank you for praying!

Mary
