Kickoff Rally, Daytime Coverage and Night Hours

Sixty people attended our Kickoff Rally on Sunday, Sept. 22. Father David Doseck, the new pastor of Holy Name Church, led prayers with us as a group but also his own inspirational heartfelt prayer and blessing. Our speaker told her personal story of making the decision to leave a church family that she loved because of a change in philosophy away from the Truth of the Gospel. She encouraged us all to remain faithful to our Christian beliefs in all circumstances.

We only have 17 daytime hours (7am to 7pm) still in need of at least 2 vigil participants! That is fantastic since during the spring campaign this year it took until Week 5 to completely cover our hours.

Go to www.40daysforlife.com/cincinnati to register if you’ve not already done so and sign up to help cover open hours or to join other participants. For a quick look at those open hours first, see “ For Reference Only – DAYTIME Open & Covered Hours – Sign Up Online” under the RESOURCES list on the website.

Back in 2008 when we held our first 40 Days for Life campaign, our plan was to have continuous, daily 24 hours of prayer throughout the campaign. Some of the churches that are still with us did manage to follow through with that plan and God bless them. But we really weren’t ready to keep it up. This fall, with the leadership of two committed men, Adam Schad and John Beckstedt, we are covering the night hours. There are a few shifts left to fill, but the men have responded and I hope to have a positive report on their experiences soon.

If any men want to find out more about the night hours (7pm to 7pm), contact me and I’ll get you in touch with Adam or John.

Thank you both for your dedication to 40 Days for Life and your support of us all.

UPCOMING EVENT – Wednesday, October 16 – 9 to 10am in front of Planned Parenthood – Join us to hear Abby Johnson, author of the book UNPLANNED, on which the film was based.
